RULES & CONDITIONS

1. Spectrum Sport Timing is the official timing system. NO CHIP, NO RESULT. NO PRIZE
2. Spectrum Sport Timing: This event is being timed with the Spectrum Sport system and therefore you will be supplied with a Spectrum Sport timing chip, to participate in the event. This chip is a ‘temporary chip’ for this event ONLY, and must be handed back to the organizers at the finish, to enable you to get a race result. 3. The wearing of protective headgear is compulsory. NO HELMET NO RIDE!
4. Only handlebars suitable for mass start racing will be allowed. NO TRI-BARS!
5. No person under 12 years of age may enter the 114km event.
6. All participants must carry water bottles and essential spares despite the fact that the organizers will arrange sweep vehicles and water points.
7. All participants must complete the course entirely under their own power.
8. No spectators or seconds are allowed to follow participants in any vehicle or come into contact with any participant during the event save for any officials authorized by the organizers (Register at entry table).
9. By entering the event the participant confirms that he or she is medically fit to compete in the event and that the cycle used is in a roadworthy condition.
10. Race numbers must be worn low on the back of the participants.
11. The route will be as shown on the map and it is the sole responsibility of the participant to know the route. The organizers take no responsibility for persons deviating from the route or the consequences of such action.
12. All Traffic Officers, Marshalls, Officials, Road Signals and signs MUST be obeyed in every instance and participants must use the left-hand lane of the road in which they are traveling. Participants will yield to vehicular traffic should this be necessary. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION. Officials will withdraw from the course at 13:00.
13. AII decisions by the Organizers will be final and no discussion or correspondence will be entertained.
14. Any person under the age of 21 entering the event must obtain the signature of a parent or guardian on the indemnity. NOTE: A CYCLING ADULT MUST ACCOMPANY ANY PERSON UNDER THE AGE OF 12. An adult is deemed to be of 21 years of age plus.
15. The event will take place regardless of weather conditions.
16. No refunds will be made under any circumstances.
17. Any transgression of these rules and conditions may result in disqualification from the event.
18. For prize money to be offered in a category there must be a minimum of 10 entrants in that category.
19. Entry will be deemed a late entry if received after the closing date of the pre-entries. Late entries will not be seeded.

General Information

PRE ENTRIES CLOSE 6th APRIL 2010 @ 18h00.

1. Registration / collection of race numbers on 15th April at Cycle Lab CENTURION, 16th April at Cycle Lab FOURWAYS from 09h00 – 17h00, and 17th April at Sportsman’s Warehouse, Princess Crossing Shopping Centre, Ontdekkers Road, Roodepoort from 10h00 – 16h00, and at the venue on 18th April from 06h00.


NOTE: LICENCED RIDERS MUST ENTER BEFORE RACE DAY!
