Abbott gets ODI call-up



Cricket South Africa on Wednesday added Kyle Abbott of the Sunfoil Dolphins to the Proteas Castle Lager squad for the five-match Momentum ODI series against Pakistan next month.

“Morne Morkel’s recovery from his hamstring injury is still a work in progress,” commented CSA selection convener Andrew Hudson, “and we consider it prudent to provide extra depth to our fast bowling resources.”

Abbott took 11 wickets in eight matches for the Dolphins during the Momentum One Day Cup, at an average of 22.72 and an economy rate of 5.03.
