India look to hit ground running
India will be faced with the challenge of quickly hitting their stride after a long layoff and adapting to a new venue when they start a limited overs series against Sri Lanka.
Indian cricketers normally play all year but are coming off a seven-week break and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said on Friday that his players are fresh and energetic on eve of the series opener.
Saturday's match at Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Hambantota will be India's first on the ground and Dhoni says the strong winds and fielding on a large ground are factors that his team must quickly come to terms with.
The teams play five one-day internationals and a Twenty20.
