Much to gain for Zim in unofficial series
Zimbabwe has much to gain from its unofficial Twenty20 tri-series against South Africa and Bangladesh after slipping back to losing ways following a promising return to tests last year.
Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh in its comeback test last August and then secured a rare one-day series win.
But since then, the Zimbabweans have lost home series to Pakistan and New Zealand and were thrashed by the Black Caps in New Zealand this year, surrendering the one-off test, all three ODIs and both T20s.
Zimbabwe assistant coach Stephen Mangongo says the team was lacking confidence, but after some soul-searching "we seem to have got it back."
Although it won't have full international status, the T20 series starting on Sunday will be valuable for Zimbabwe as it aims to rebuild once again.
