Modi's lawyer wants two BCCI members out
A lawyer for suspended IPL commissioner Lalit Modi reportedly wants the Board of Control for Cricket in India to remove two members from its disciplinary committee before it rules on his client.
The Press Trust of India quoted Mehmood Abdi as saying the issue of removing Chirayu Amin and Arun Jaitely was debated during Tuesday's hearing of the committee.
Abdi hopes the issue will be settled in the next meeting on August 1. He also wants a retired supreme court judge on the committee.
The BCCI is investigating Modi over his involvement in the bids
for the Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab at the inaugural
Indian Premier League auction in 2008 plus the awarding of two new
IPL franchises last month and a TV broadcast deal.
