Cricket | Momentum One Day Cup

Dolphins and Lions frustrated by rain

The Momentum One Day Cup clash between the Sunfoil Dolphins and the bizhub Highveld Lions was abandoned without a ball being bowled at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Wednesday.

The two sides had already tossed, with the Dolphins electing to bat first, but they never made it to the crease. Persistent rain in Durban forced the umpires to finally call it quits on the contest at 6pm, with the frustrated teams earning two log points for the washout.

The Lions will now turn their attention to the Jukskei derby with the Nashua Titans at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium on Friday night, while the Dolphins will travel to Sahara Park Newlands to face the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras on the same night.
