Dolphins on the brink of victory

The Chevrolet Warriors were dismissed for 198 in their second innings at the close of play on day two of their Sunfoil Series match against the Sunfoil Dolphins at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead in Durban on Friday.
Colin Ingram made a valiant 61 in 193 minutes, with seven fours and a six, but found little support as the visitors wilted under the bowling of Kyle Abbott and Craig Alexander.
Ingram, who resumed after the tea break on 24, brought up his half century (95 balls, 163 minutes) with a six over third man, when Calvin Savage bowled a short, wide delivery.
Ashwell Prince (22) and Ingram gave some hope to the visitors as the pair shared a 4th-wicket partnership of 51. But with wickets falling at regular intervals, the Warriors were always in trouble.
Besides Prince, only Davy Jacobs (26) and Ayabulela Gqamane (22 not out) offered any form of support to the Proteas ODI batsman.
Kyle Abbott, who claimed three wickets in the first innings, finished with 4-57 from 18 overs while Craig Alexander added three wickets to the two he picked up in the first innings.
Sent in to bat on day one, the Warriors were dismissed on the stroke of lunch for a woeful total of 92. Gqamane top-scored with a quick-fire 29 from 30 deliveries which included two fours and two sixes.
Mthokozisi Shezi, who claimed only one wicket in the Warriors' second innings, smashed through the top order, claiming four wickets in his first four overs. Shezi eventually ended with 5-28 from 10.2 overs.
In reply, the hosts were bowled out for 245 before lunch on the second day, with Khaye Zondo top-scoring with 51, which lasted 206 minutes and included five fours and a six.
Gqamane, who has been the find of the season thus far, claimed 4-57 in 15.4 overs. Imraan Khan (38) and Divan van Wyk (26) shared a 58-run partnership for the first wicket, the highest of the match to date.
Zondo and wicketkeeper, Daryn Smit (37), also shared a 50-run partnership for the 7th wicket.
The Dolphins will need just 46 runs for victory on the morning of the third day, which will take their points tally to 16.9 for the match.
This inevitable defeat for the Warriors, will almost certainly spell the end of their hopes of challenging for the Sunfoil Series title.
