Dolphins v Knights called off for second day

Heavy storms and rains have wreaked havoc for the Sunfoil Dolphins and Chevrolet Knights in Pietermaritzmburg.

Day one of their Sunfoil Series clash was affected by rain and a water-damaged crease on day one.

On Wednesday night one of the covers blew off due to a heavy storm in the area which had water seep through and cause some mild damage to the pitch.

The toss was not possible on day one and while the rain stayed away on Friday, the weather remained overcast and, as a result, the pitch could not dry.

Umpires called off play for the second day at lunch time, without the toss taking place. Sun is forecast for day three and the pitch will need at least one session of solid sun in order to dry out.
