Faul expresses thanks to CSA, North West

Cricket South Africa Acting CEO Jacques Faul on Thursday expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the people he has worked with both at CSA and North West Cricket for their unqualified support.

He leaves CSA at the end of next month to take up his new post as CEO of Northerns Cricket Union, Titans Cricket (Pty) Ltd and Easterns Titans (Pty ) Ltd on March 1 2013.

“I joined North West 10 years ago as CEO,” he commented, “and I have wonderful memories of the time I spent there. That is where I grew up both as a player and as an administrator and I am very grateful to North West for the grounding they have given me and, of course, for the opportunity they allowed me to be Acting CEO at CSA for the past year.

“It has been a very demanding task over the past 12 months and I would like to thank the Board and the Members’ Forum of CSA for all the support they have given me and particularly the CSA Staff for the way they have kept our operations going very smoothly in uncertain times.

“I do know that I leave CSA in good shape. We are having our Annual General Meeting on Saturday which will see the election of the newly constituted Board in terms of our approved corporate governance principles that I believe will set a standard for other South African sporting codes to follow.

“We will also have a new President and Vice-President who will bring fresh leadership on the road ahead. I know from my recent attendance at ICC meetings that the Proteas brand remains a very strong and respected one and I wish my successor all the best on the road ahead.

“We have managed to re-assure existing sponsors of our sound governance structures and to attract some new ones and I leave CSA in good financial and cricketing health.

“The appointment of a new CEO is well on track and I have every confidence that the procedure will be completed by the end of next month.

“I would also like to thank the Northerns Cricket Union, Titans Cricket and the Easterns Titans Franchise for the confidence they have shown in me as I embark on the next challenge of my career.”
