Subrayen cleared to resume bowling

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Tuesday announced that Prenelan Subrayen, the 19-year-old KwaZulu-Natal offspinner, has been re-tested successfully and consequently reinstated to bowl at all levels of cricket.

Subrayen was placed under rehabilitation both for a shoulder injury and for his bowling action followed tests carried out by the Australian Institute of Sport and by the Sports Science Institute of South Africa that found his action to be illegal.

The rehabilitation took place under the direction of the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union (KZNCU) with assistance from CSA’s High Performance personnel and resulted in his being successfully re-tested.

“Prenelan can thus resume his bowling career with immediate effect,” commented Corrie van Zyl, CSA General Manager: Cricket.
