T&T snatch defeat, Blues triumph

New South Wales Blues came back from the dead to tie their match with Trinidad & Tobago and then continue to win the Super Over in the Champions League T20 in Chennai on Wednesday.

Man-of-the-Match Moises Henriques hit a brilliant 18 not out of nine balls to help the Blue tie the match, but - again - the tactics of Trinidad & Tobago baffled all in the final over, as - having to defend 17 runs - Ravi Rampaul bowled five shocking balls to concede 16 runs.

Rampaul was chosen to bowl the Super Over, and gave away 18 runs - bowling too straight with no men behind square on the leg side - all hit by Henriques.

T&T could only manage 14 runs in reply.

Earlier, a late flurry of runs saw Trinidad & Tobago reach 139 for six, opting to bat first.

The Blues started off quite well, keeping T&T to a run-a-ball for most of their innings, as wickets fell at regular intervals and T&T struggled to get to grips with the tight bowling and slow track.

However, NSW lost the plot in the last five overs, conceding 50 runs, even though they managed to capture three wickets.

Lendl Simmons top-scored with 41 off 39 balls, and Henriques claimed 2/27.
