Mumbai snatch thrilling win

A fight-back of epic proportions from Trinidad & Tobago nearly secured a miracle-win, but they faltered on the final delivery to hand Mumbai Indians a one-wicket victory in their Champions League Twenty20 match in Bangalore on Monday.

Chasing a lowly 99 runs to win, Samuel Badree (1/14) and Ravi Rampaul (3/17) kept the Mumbai Indians' batting at bay with accurate bowling aided by spirited fielding, and regular wickets prevented the hosts from putting together a partnership of note.

Full Scoring

Needing 15 off the final two overs, Rampaul bowled a phenomenal six deliveries, conceding only four runs.

A nervous Mumbai succumbed to two run-outs in the 20th over, with a mixture of poor running, poor judgement and pin-point throwing.

Then, with only 2 runs required off the final ball, T&T captain, Darren Ganga inexplicably did not protect the single, and last man Yuzvendra Chahal hit the full toss with soft hands - the return to the striker's end was slightly too wide to stop the second run.

Earlier, captain Harbhajan Singh and his Mumbai Indians skittled Trinidad & Tobago for their lowest T20 total of 98 off only 16.2 overs after T&T opted to bat first.

Harbhajan ripped the heart out of Trinidad's batting line-up, dismissing Darren Bravo, Denesh Ramdin and Sherwin Ganga in the space of two-and-a-half overs - a collapse from which they never recovered.

Harbhajan finished with 3/22 off his four overs.
