Divine intervention for Windies

The magnificent spectre of St.George's Cathedral dominates a small part of downtown Georgetown and on Sunday morning the wonderful old, wooden structure sees a steady stream of colourful characters wind through it's doors.

The minister in charge of Matins finished his sermon at 7:30 a.m. and bade farewell to his flock with the following words: "Have a true fine day for de rest of de Lord's Sunday and for doze of you going to de Bourda let's hope for a better day. Let's hope Courtney can break troo and let's hope it doesn't rain. But if South Africa keeps on scoring de runs, let's pray it does!"

If a Caribbean minister can't put a smile on your face, no one will. Georgetown does, incidentally, usually get plent of rain at this time of year so you don't necessarily have to believe in divine intervention if it does rain.
