You can't win em all boys

There were strong and definite emotions bouncing off the walls of the South African team's changeroom following the loss of the fifth and final test in Jamaica.

Outright dissappointment was by far the most powerful of them, but a sense of being involved in cricketing history was not far below the surface.

We all know the pride of the ... (when will the UCB come up with an appropriate name for one of the most successful teams in the history of cricket!!), is so strong that they were determined to 'turn the screws' in the final test. They too were extremely aware that the great Courtney Walsh was hanging up his boots at the completion of the series.

For me it was an honour to be present and witness the closing of a remarkable career. It was also potently obvious from the reaction of the South Africans that Courtney is held in high esteem...rightly so. You can't win em all boys but hey you can say, "I was there".

So the hustle and the bustle of one-dayers is upon us. The Windies finished the test series on a bit of a high although they were soundly defeated overall. I feel they improved their bowling by as much as 20% in the final test, for once getting the ball consistently in the right spot.

Will this make any difference to the scoreline after the seven ODI's are finalised? My call is NO!
