Narvaez, 35, retains his title

Omar Narvaez retained his WBO bantamweight title when he beat Cesar Seda on points in Buenos Aires on Friday night.

Narvaez, a former WBO flyweight champion, won by scores of 117-110 on two cards and 115-112 on the third.

Taking his record to 34-0-2, with 19 knockouts, the 35-year-old Argentinian veteran was in control almost throughout.

The champion, one of the most popular boxers in Argentina, did not disappoint his army of supporters. His skills, experience and outstanding physical condition enabled him to handle the 25-year-old challenger's attacks.

Seda, in suffering his first professional defeat, dropped to 20-1 with 15 KOs.

The Puerto Rican put up a brave performance in front of Narvaez's supporters but never seemed to have a realistic change of winning.
