Ntshiliza eyes Two Oceans defence

Defending champion George Ntshiliza says he will not change his tactics as he goes in search of his second Two Oceans marathon title next week.

Ntshiliza secured the 56km ultra-marathon title in Cape Town last year, becoming the first South African to win the race in four years.

"I never change my plan. I start every race as if I'm a novice, and then I come from the back," Ntshiliza said on Monday.

"I believe I can defend my title. I know that there will be pressure on me to perform but I don't let that get in the way of my goal, which is to win."

The 32-year-old, who turns out for Nedbank Running Club, was confident of retaining his Two Oceans crown.

"I am totally focussed on Two Oceans," he said.

"I have done all my necessary long distance and strength training and now I'm concentrating purely on the speed work."
