Dutch world half-marathon champion Lornah Kiplagat said on Wednesday she will quit track and cross country running and run on the road only.

Kenya-born Kiplagat, 34, told reporters at the start of a holiday with her husband and coach Pieter Langerhorst that she had decided on her priorities.

"After about seven years of combining track, cross country, road and marathon it is now time to concentrate the remaining years of my running on the road alone," she said.

Kiplagat's last track race was the 10 000 metres final at this year's Beijing Olympics where she finished eighth. She said her next marathon would be next year in either New York or Amsterdam.
