Catch the world's best in 'fifth major'

On Monday, 13-time PGA Tour winner, David Duval tweeted that the Players Championship may be the greatest golf event ever, but world No 1 and two, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, would beg to differ with the 2001 Open winner.

The duo often find the going tough at the Players.

In Woods’s stellar 17-year professional career, which has yielded 77 PGA Tour wins, only two tournaments which he’s played on more than 10 occasions have got the better of him: the Northern Trust Open, which he’s yet to win, and the Players Championship which he has won once in 14 appearances.

Since his sole victory at the Players back in 2001, he has only managed one top-10 finish at Sawgrass.

McIlroy is yet to make the weekend in three starts.

Both will have another chance at figuring out the mystery that is TPC Sawgrass at the 39th edition of the Players - live on SuperSport.
