China, Greece in women's water polo Gold Final
China edged Russia 13-12 in overtime and Greece beat Italy 14-11 on Wednesday to advance to the gold medal final of the women's world water polo championships.
China and Russia were level at 9-9 at the end of regulation time, but the home side got the win in the first extra period.
Olympic gold medalists the Netherlands and two-time defending champions the United States played consolation matches Wednesday. Heather Petri scored two goals as the US beat Canada 8-4 to advance to the fifth-place final Friday and will play Australia, which beat the Netherlands 12-7.
Hungary beat Cuba 12-7 Wednesday for ninth place and Spain defeated New Zealand 15-7 for 11th.
